Siegessäule -The Victory Column
Siegessäule is situated in a big roundabout that is very difficult to cross. It is actually possible to climb 285 steps to the top (48 metres) of Siegessäule and then you can view the big park Tiergarten, which surrounds it. It was built between 1864 and 1873 in order to commemorate the German victories over Denmark, Austria and France. On top of the column there is the Golden Else, who is the goddess of Victory.
