We began our journey by driving to Arlanda Airport, making stops at Docksta, Alebo, and Högbacka along the way. Docksta is a convenient place to stop for a meal when travelling from Umeå. On this occasion, we flew Business Class, which provided a comfortable experience and excellent food. Upon arriving in London, we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Heathrow, a pleasant hotel conveniently located near the airport.

 

On Sunday, we attended the Eucharist at St Paul's Cathedral. For lunch, we had bagels from Beigel Bake on Brick Lane. The remainder of the day was spent exploring St James's Park, Green Park, and central London.

 

The following day, we travelled to south London to admire the architecture of several Underground stations, including South Wimbledon and Tooting Bec. We then took the Northern line to Highgate and enjoyed a walk through the surrounding woodland. Later, we visited Finchley and Golders Green.

 

During our stay, we also visited the exhibition Queen Elizabeth II – Her Life in Style at Buckingham Palace, which featured many of the late Queen's dresses worn throughout her reign, including her wedding dress and coronation gown.

 

On Thursday morning, we boarded a bus from the hotel bound for Kingston. After approximately 50 minutes, we realised that the route would pass Hampton Court Palace, so we decided to get off there instead. We spent around three hours exploring the palace and its grounds. It had been 30 years since our previous visit to the Hampton Court Palace Maze.

 

We also visited Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park, Battersea Power Station with its many shops, and Battersea Park. We arrived home on 22 June.
