The Alps 2005

The Alps were magnificient, which was expected. We saw the mountains around Innsbruck in Austria, and the tallest mountain in Germany - the Zugspitze with its 2,964 metres. We had been thinking about going up to the top, but it cost a horrendous €44/person. Nevertheless, we were able to see it from a restaurant in Austria, the Zugspitzblick (View of the Zugspitze). Long rolling meadows going uphill were something we had not seen before, so it was quite fascinating. Included beneath are photos of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Innsbruck. Enjoy the photos taken on 20 July 2005!
