| Munich has the best shopping in all of Germany. Every thing that you might want can be found on the main shopping street between Marienplatz and the railway station. In September the familiar Oktoberfest takes place at Marienwiese, just a little bit outside the city center. Many Germans, and tourists, drink a large amount of beer, and everyone is having a good time. My absolute favorite spot in the area around Munich was the Olympic Park from 1972. I really wanted to test Olympia-Schwimmhalle, but I did not do it in the end, which from time to time I regret. The best attraction in the park was of course the Olympia Tower, from which you could see the Alps. If you, contrary to expectation, would be bored 200 metres above ground you could visit the BMW Museum nearby. |
