Saxony Anhalt is always a favorite state in Germany. They always have welcoming signs at the borders with texts like: Welcome to Sachsen-Anhalt. We did not visit the capital Magdeburg this year, but we went to three other places Wernigerode, Quedlinburg, and Dessau. Dessau was one of the nicer cities in Germany. I like the Bauhaus-concept enormously.

We had heard so much about Quedlinburg, but we were a little disappointed and liked Wernigerode a lot better.
