Jahrhunderhalle in Bochum was definitely worth a visit even though it was not open, but the mine of Essen was even better. The shopping in Essen was also good, which it is in almost any German city. Mühlheim an der Ruhr is a jewel in the Ruhr area, and we saw the only half-timbered houses left in the city. The Krupp family estate Villa Hügel is not far away from Essen or Mühlheim an der Ruhr, so we visited it. The last picture is from Gelsenkirchen.
