The Chinese Pavilion - Kina Slott
It took three times to fall in love with the Chinese Pavilion - Kina Slott in Swedish. The first time I was there was in 1980 but I have only vague memories of it. I was six years at the time, so I asked my mother about it in the summer of 2009 and she said we had waffles there. I remember the park and the Castle of Drottningholm. We were actually inside the pavilion but to no avail. I simply do not remember it! The next time was in 1997, 23 years old, and I have flashes of me walking inside the pavilion, but no, I do not remember anything! When I was in Berlin this summer (2009) something inside me said: "Go to Kina Slott and see it!". I did and I was absolutely thrilled! I remember more or less every single room of it three months later, and I bought a book for 35 EUR on the spot. The guide was extremely good at making history come alive and my favorite room in the pavilion is the Green Room. This room is the most stunning one I have ever seen! See a picture of it here.
